It wasn't in mint condition but, it was better than any other place Kyelien had seen on the island. " Where are we?" he asked. " Well since it's the biggest building here on the islands, we all just call it The Mansion." " We? ..... you mean there are more people in there? How many is we?" 'The Mansion' was tall, it's light blue paint was peeling away and, if you looked at it for a moment it almost looked crooked..... but just barely. Still this house was in way better condition compared to all the other houses. " We'll just have to go in and see wont we?" The blond went past Kyelien but he himself hesitated to walk forward. He looked around for a moment, spinning in a complete circle, he thought, "The Mansion is isolated on it's own little corner from the main island and, for anyone to get here (including the cop's) it would be pretty difficult-" " That is unless they had me." interrupted Felice. Kyelien whipped his head around, surprised. " Do you always speak out loud? " He furrowed his brow. " Uh ... no?..." he hadn't noticed. " The odds of someone finding this place are pretty slim Kye, I mean, I don't know how long this building has been here but, the forest you have to get through is unexceptionally thick unless you know all the shortcuts." Kyelien took on glance back at all those trees, and he was convinced that Felice was right, he stepped forth and soon The Mansion door's were opening by the push of his hands.
A sweet welcoming smell filled Kyelien's lung's, he was still really hungry. The house was even better looking on the inside. A row of hand woven vases were lined against one wall and, on the other, under a staircase, were jar's and little glass vial's, some of them filled with water and had small colorful fish in them, another had a seahorse with starfish in the bottom of it. " Whoa ...." Kyelien dropped his bag. The staircase was narrow, leading upstairs to a hallway with three door's that faced the two boys. Then on the bottom floor under the third door there was an opening that looked to be like a kitchen. Handing him a jar with a seahorse, Felice said. " Well what do you think?" He looked around as well, as if he'd not seen this place in a long time, like he was happy to be back. " I dont think I could come up with anything that could explain what I want to say." His eyes were wide, his jaw slightly hung open. Felice laughed and bumped Kyelien's shoulder. " Your welcome." Kyelien looked down in the jar, the tiny seahorse gently tumbled around in a swirling current bobbing up, then down. " Are you giving him to me?" he asked Felice. " uh.....sure, I just thought you'd think it was kind of interesting to see one up close." Kyelien wanted to run around to see what each room looked but, before he had a chance, a tall slender woman was there standing against the railing in the top hallway. How long had she been there? Kyelien had not noticed her before. " Josephine!" blurted out Felice, seeming unaware of the woman as well. She was very pale, her hair was jet black and although she did not have any makeup her lips were cherry red. She wore a white hawaiian sarong and, she stood bare foot with a glass of fruit juice held in one hand. " You've come back..." her gave a quiver and, she instantly put the glass down rushing down the stairs with anger? Worry? Both perhaps? Kyelien could not tell but, she stopped right in front of him, sticking a finger out in a motherly manner ready to yell but, only giving in to what to like a relieved sigh. Felice and the older woman embraced each other, she softly spoke, " I told you that you shouldn't leave unless you tell me. I mean, I know I cant stop you from going out there Felice but, the least you could do is tell me when your leaving." "Sorry Josephine, the others said that you had been having a rough week, so, I didn't want to wake you up." Felice stared at his feet. " Do you know what would happen to me if something happen to you?" She held Felice back away from her, so that he could see her face. " I know... you'd be very hurt." he mumbled " Oh ..... well yeah that too but, I was gonna say that I wouldn't be able to call for you to get me a cup of tea." Felice shoved the women off and started laughing. " You're a real jerk you know that." he put his hands on his hips, cocking his eyebrows. Kyelien laughed a little too, that's when Josephine turned to him and she said. " Why hello sweetie, you are?" She leaned in hid direction. He held the jar tightly, as if searching for comfort. " Kyelien." he said softly. " Hello Kyelien, it's nice to meet you, welcome home."
